Before You Order

How far in advance should I place my order/quote request?

As soon as you know the date of your event, please contact us. We can only accommodate certain number of custom orders on the weekends due to our limited kitchen space.

We recommend a minimum 2 week notification to complete your custom order. Weekend dates usually fill up pretty fast.

The process of making your custom edible work of art starts weeks in advance, from consulting with you on design, price, and flavors, to processing the order, to ordering the professional supplies needed to craft your order. We pay the utmost attention to detail and start making precision pieces of your order well ahead of time.

How much do your cakes cost?

The total price of your order depends on several factors, including number of servings, complexity of the design, special flavor requests, and set up time at the venue (if applicable).  Our prices do not only cover the cost of the ingredients and top-quality packaging, but also the time taken to answer each special request and create a unique design, preparations for your order, and the meticulous care that goes into creating your masterpiece!

All of our custom cakes are at least 4 layers, made with the highest quality and freshest ingredients, and we never ever use pre-made mixes!

All quotes will be provided via email and not over the phone, simply to help keep track of all details and with customer service in mind!

Please see our Pricing Page for more details.

How do I order and pay?

A 50% non-refundable* retainer is required to reserve your order.

* See cancellation/rescheduling answer for temporary policy due to Covid*

The payment goes toward the balance of your order. Payment/Retainer must be paid at time of order placement, The balance will be due a week before pickup but can be paid anytime before then.

If order is placed within 1 week of event, the full amount of the order will be due. No retainer/payment-No saved date and cake.
We accept venmo and zelle; we will discuss your preference during the order process.

No order is confirmed until we get all the information we need for the custom order and the payment/retainer.

Is there a cancellation or rescheduling policy?

By putting down the 50% retainer with us, we in turn reserve your space for that date.

For Orders scheduled for pickup/delivery through the end of March 2022 we are allowing retainer refunds up to (2) two weeks prior to the event (minus any cost of special materials that have been ordered in advance); and a 50% retainer refund (cancellation) or order changes up to (1) one week in advance.

If you need to reschedule, we will make our best efforts to accommodate your requests, and availability for scheduling pick-up or delivery may change and can incur additional charges.

If rescheduling is not possible, we can offer suggestions on how to best store it for freshness; since our cakes are made-to-order, they stay fresh longer than most store-bought baked goods.

Do you provide drawings before placing an order?

Most designs can be confirmed based on email description, photos of past orders, photos of special materials, and inspiration from others.  We cannot agree to replicate someone else's cake design, however we will make something similar in the CMC signature style.

Upon request, for $15 Corey can provide a drawing(s) to help with your decision.  If you confirm, the $15 will go towards your 50% retainer for the cake.

Do you deliver?

We offer delivery for an additional fee from East 65th to E120th St. in Manhattan depending on location with a minimum order of $75; we also offer pre-scheduled curbside pick-up, which is suggested.
